The RnR that Wasn't: Round Two

Image
Well once again participating in a Rock and Roll marathon I have signed up for eludes me. I registered for before we knew we would be moving so very far away. At first I was like sweet I can fly back for some sunshine and palm trees in the dead of winter. Brilliant. Look up plane tickets, hotels, transportation, contacting friends.....fun times. And then I added it all up and it was like a million dollars for less than 24 hours in the sunshine. So I thought about it for awhile and was like D 'do you think it is worth it?' D: 'No you could register for the rest of your races locally and then some for that amount of money.' Voice of reason strikes again. If I could stay longer maybe it would be worth it but considering I would be flying in Saturday afternoon and flying out Sunday afternoon....it seems like an annoying amount of time in airports and airplanes without much payoff. So RnR AZ is a no go. I am pretty sure I will run 30 half marathons without one bei...

Blue Plate Special

Last night after my zumba class (side note: I am totally less awkward, still awkward just less, after only three classes and we had a totally great instructor today) I was so lazy that dinner looked like this. Cottage cheese, salad and pickles. Plus I also ate cantaloupe and a fudgsicle. Oh and delicious wine. Thinking all major food groups were represented there...... Perhaps I need to get on the ball about planning out meals better or things could get ugly (or takeout/delivery heavy) around here. I have the itch to register for a marathon again. This hit me back right before registration opened for the Marine Corp marathon and I pushed it down. But now the itch is back mostly due to this sweet little advertisement in the newest Runner's World. I have wanted to run this race since I volunteered for it back in 2004. I feel I should just sign up already so I can stop thinking about it and get on with my life. At the same time life is up in the air so I have no ide...

Beaten with a stick

a zumba stick and muscle pump stick over and over and over again. It hurts so good. Taking a fitness class outside of my comfort zone makes is pretty obvious that my overall fitness may be lacking. My arms hurt so bad yesterday after muscle pump I had a hard time driving the car. You want me to turn the wheel......I just don't have it in me. My little t-rex arms hurt so bad the D had to make dinner and did a mighty fine job. Which is sad for him because now I will expect dinner perfection every night of the week from now on. Now get in the kitchen and cook for me (see what you get for being good at something around here). Got some new running supplies superfeet and shoes. Maybe this will help with the hip issue which is slowly getting better (stretching, icing, varied workouts and funny enough doing drills where I shuffle sideways, run backwards and skipping seem to be helping). It would appear I need new inserts every three to four months. Which sucks because they run abo...
