Are you a SPARTAN?

The nice people at Spartan Race have given me a race code to giveaway! Yayyy free race!!! Are you looking for a new challenge. Running just not enough well then a Spartan race might just be for you!

What is the Spartan Race you ask?

From all the images I gather it is a general state of badassery that involves mud, tires and a certain level of toughness. I have had some friends do one of these (looking at you Stacey and Leslie) and they have said they are tough but a ton of fun!

Info from the website:

Spartan Race is on a mission to get you active, healthy, excited about change, and return to our ancient roots where running through woods, getting dirty, and facing adversity was part of everyday life. Our events are all about challenging today’s perception of normal.

Our events challenge the familiar, today’s perception of normal living and getting you out of your comfort zone! At Spartan Race, we do this everyday and it shapes everything we do.

Having experienced many different racing events, we wanted to make adventure racing more accessible to everyone, but do not be fooled by the word ‘accessible’, as our events have a challenge for everyone’s needs.

Spartan Race now introduces a level for everyone beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan, the advanced Spartan Beast, and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Death Race.

Whatever your level, Spartan Race will test your strength, stamina, and sense of humor.

There are a couple races coming up next month that would leave you a bit of time to prepare:

So if you are interested in a free entry to a Spartan race of your choice leave a comment below telling me how much you love mud and flipping tires or what a bad ass you are or really anything! I will pick at random Thursday October 23rd.

* Disclaimer- The race entry was given to me by the awesome peeps at Spartan Race Inc. I have never done a Spartan race because I am a sissy/ have an aversion to mud so I can not vouch for what they are like but from friends I have heard they are fun but more physical than your typical road race- read upper body strength is involved. Also perhaps why I have not done one of these races.

  1. I've previously done a mud run, but never a Spartan. Looking forward to the chance this year.

  2. I was on the Fast Cory blog and stumbled into here because I saw a "Spartan" post. I just finished my first marathon and was looking for the next challenge. I've done one mud run. It kicked my butt but I loved it and wanted to actually train for one to do it right. .

  3. Can't think of a better way to spend some bonding time in the mud flipping tires with my daughter at a Spartan Race; certainly beats an afternoon at the salon.

  4. I live to complete Spartan Races as a way to challenge myself and re capture that inner athlete from I was younger as well as keep me focused and maintain the near 90 lbs of weight loss that I have been able to do. Spartan race has changed my life so much so that I now train others and just over 30 individuals have also been able to start their own weight loss journey as well as complete a Spartan Race! This entry would help another person complete their goal!!
