Whoa 2013

With the new year coming up it is always fun to look back on what has happened the past 365 days. This year has had its ups and downs but overall it has been a great year!

We got to live close to the Windy City and explore much of what it has to offer. Chicago is a fun place and I am glad we got to live near there and have some adventures there. The same goes for Milwaukee. If you ever get the chance to visit either I recommend it.

I got into the Chicago marathon. A happy 30th birthday present to myself.

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our dog Nellie.

I ran several half marathons in pursuit of my goal of running 30 halves before turning 30.

I ran the Wisconsin Marathon.

Followed shortly by the Chicagoland Spring Marathon, followed shortly with an Achilles injury that stopped me from running for six weeks. Lesson learned- sometimes breaks are good.
My sister got married and I got the be the official wedding photographer. Fun in the mountains and love in the air.

I completed my goal of running 30 half marathons before turning 30 over the 4th of July weekend. I also got to do it with my best friend and her fiance there to cheer me on. Thanks Minneapolis for a great race!

D became an officer in the Army.

After several months apart while D was at training D and I finally were reunited when I moved way down yonder on the Chattahoochee. This meant leaving my job and friends which was sad but am loving this area and all the people I have met here.

My best friend got married and it was a beautiful wedding and so much fun!

I got to go to California to meet these internet strangers who I adore and can't wait to see again.

Oh yeah and while I was there I ran a marathon.
And then two weeks later I ran another marathon.

Don't worry I wore shoes and I also had my own cheering section....
I am kind of a big deal.

Became an employee at a running store and now nerd out on a regular basis on all things running. I have also met some amazing and inspiring runners through working here.

D and I got to go on vacation to Florida and it was wonderful and relaxing.

Had an amazing thanksgiving with great friends and gotten to become friends with some amazing people here in Columbus.

Ran a fast 5K and almost threw up. Oh and I placed in my age group.

Came up with a ridiculous marathon goal (4:20 at Albany- ya know a 25 minute PR sounds totes reasonable) and got a coach to help me make it happen.

Overall an amazing year! Thank you to all the friends and family who made it special. Thank you to my fellow run bloggers and blog readers who keep me inspired.
Cheers to you and 2014!
