Weekend Adventures

Saturday I hit the trails with some of my favorite ladies. I ran the 2.5 miles to and from the trail from my house and then six miles of trails for a total of a lot of running for someone who hasn't done over 3 miles in a few weeks. I was beat for the rest of the day.

We ran into some cows on the Lazy Cow trail. I have run this trail lots of times and this is the first time I have ever come across a cow. They were pretty cute.

On Sunday it was spouse bonding time with a road trip up to White Sands National Monument about an hour and twenty minutes away from us. It was on my list of things to see before we move. Done and done.

It was really beautiful out there. We had perfect cool and overcast weather but I have a feeling it gets real warm out there in the summer. We wandered around a bit taking in the sights and learning about the area. When I first saw the white sand it looked like snow to me. And then when we were walking around the dunes you kind of expect once you get to the top to be able to see an ocean but no just more sand and desert. I would recommend it if you are in the area.

Not a bad weekend. Count down to New Orleans adventure time has begun!
