I have stolen this quiz from Behold the Turtle who stole it from Jogging on Coffee. I thought it was too fun to pass up plus with no races I feel like I am short on things to blog about. This is the longest I have gone without racing since starting this blog. I am living vicariously through everyone else and wishing I was racing with them.
Fuel: Shot Bloks, GU, Energy Chews, Candy or Other?
GU- vanilla flavored or death. Okay maybe it is not that dramatic but vanilla is my favorite. I also like Swedish fish because they are the best candy known to man.
Race Length: 5k, 10k, 1/2 Marathon, Marathon, Ultra or Other?
To those of you who are new to the blog gotta say the half marathon is my favorite length distance. Though this year is the year of the marathon and I want to do an Ultra someday. And short distances are nice because well, they are shorter. So I like running....
Workout Bottoms: Skirts, Running Shorts, Capris, Pants or Other?
I like to race in skirts but train in capris. Running shorts just get annoying. I know there is the perfect pair out there, I have just not found them yet.
Sports Drink: Gatorade, Powerade, Cytomax, you stick to water when you run or Other?
I like Nuun after a hard, hot run. Gatorade during a race.
Running Temperatures: HEAT or COLD?
Never thought I would say this but heat. I would rather deal with being hot than freezing. Maybe after I adjust back to living in a place that actually has four season my answer will change.
Running Shoe Brands: Saucony, Mizuno, Nike, Brooks, Asics or Other?
Nikes for now. Though I also like Mizunos and have a pair of Brooks standing by. Really any shoe that feels good and has enough structure to keep me going I am okay with. If they are on sale, even better.
Pre-race meal: Oatmeal, Bagel, Banana, Eggs, Cereal or Other?
Bagel with peanut butter and banana.
Rest Days: 1x per week, 2x per week, never ever ever or other?
I take two days off a week. One day I do absolutely nothing. One rest day I do yoga. But no running.
Music: Have to have it or go without it?
Must have. Thought lately I have been running more without it when I am outside. For sure need it on the treadmill.
#1 reason for running: stress-relief, endorphins, you love to race, so you can eat all the cupcakes you want, weight-loss, love running for social reasons or other?
Running for me started with a focus on weight-loss but has turned into so much more. It has also become about the stress- relief, endorphins, love of racing- mostly medals but aiming for PRs is pretty fun too. Most of all it has become an identity, a community and a way to challenge myself. That is what I love most of all. The challenge. Running does not come easily for me but I think that is why I like it so much. Every gain is hard won.
