Inspiring Blogger Award

Once again I am shocked to find someone finds my blog entertaining enough to give it a shout out. Jac over at Challenged and Running in the Bike Lane listed me as a very inspiring blogger. Very cool. Jac lives in the Phoenix area and when I lived in AZ we would commiserate about how sweaty and ridiculous it is there. But now that I live in Illinois I use her blog to think about being warm and sunshine. She is kind of a rock star runner and is just recently coming back from an injury to kick butt. I find her blog inspiring myself so if you are looking for inspiration to get out the door check her out.
Here are the Inspiring Blogger Award rules:
  • Display the award logo on your blog. (Done)
  • Link back to the person who nominated you. (Done)
  • State 7 things about yourself. (Done)
  • Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them. (Um I am not that cool to list 15 so I will just list as many as I can think of)
  • Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements. (If I remember)
Over-shares
1) I have a severe addiction to reality television. It started with The Hills and grew from there (looking at you Jersey Shore/ Keeping up with the Kardashians). Nothing but PBS and educational programs going on over here.

2) I am obsessed with our new couch. My very awesome in-laws bought us a new couch when we moved to Illinois. It is super nice and comfy and beautiful and when one of our dogs even look at it sideways I get all on edge- YOU WILL NOT TOUCH.

3) Speaking of obsessions- Marathons have become the thing I read about the most lately. Training plans, recaps, looking at websites, repeat. Guess I am gearing up for the distance.

4) Number three being said (typed?) I am not entirely sure I will like the marathon distance and if I hate it I am not sure what I will do next. I am kind of over half marathons at this point- but I am sure if I had a long enough break I would be ready to tackle another one.

5) Oh and I am also interested in doing an ultra, 50 miler to be more specific because I have apparently lost my mind (like a marathon isn't long enough...?).

6) If I could wear workout clothes all day I would or pajamas. Cause I am that lazy and am not really into fashion or buying clothes that are not for exercise. Most days I am happy if everything is clean and coordinates to some extent. Keepin it classy.

7) I love our dogs but am looking forward to a time when that responsibility is no longer there and D and I can take off whenever we want on adventures (running or otherwise).

Other inspiring bloggers to check out:

Behold the Turtle: Recently inspired me to get it together and give speed work a chance. I am also going to try to convince her to sign up for the Chicago Marathon with me because that would be awesome. Nudge, nudge.

Yo Momma Runs: Has been killing her runs and racking up PRs. She got me thinking that I could probably be faster than I am and sticking to a training plan might be a good idea. Plus she has four kids and still finds the time to train so no excuses. Oh and I totally want to show up at her doorstep and do a race in Alabama or near by.

Run with Kate: Awesome aussie who killed her first marathon and constantly pushes the pace. Oh and she is hilarious.

Jogging on Coffee: Runs races in amazing locales after sightseeing for added difficulty;). Not jealous at all that her last race took her to the UK. Not AT ALL.

My Heart's Content: Consistently kicks butt on runs pushing a stroller. I can barely figure out how to carry a water bottle.

  1. Honoured to be in such illustrious company and to be mentioned, thank you. I am always in awe of the way you churn out half marathons week after week, you're like a HM machine.

When you've done your 30 HM challenge, I am so sure that if you had a rest and then worked towards one big HM, you'd crush your time goals. You've got such amazing fitness levels that you'd kill it!!!

  2. Reading up on marathons is the best past-time...and I DO live in my workout clothes (clean ones :-)).

Thanks so much - I really feel honoured.

  3. Thanks for the shout out! And now that you are tired of half marathons, you can join me for giving up the roads and moving to trail racing. At least that's what I decided this weekend. Trail runners are so nice that I can hardly take it.

    1. Yes, trail races are fun and beautiful. I haven't done a technical one yet unless you count the great acorn ankle roll of 2012 but would like to do more of them.

  4. Thanks, girl! Marathons are scary. But I kinda want to do one ... kinda. If I stop being such a baby, we have date for Chicago. You and Chicago would be the awesome parts; it's just that 26.2 miles that is frightening me.

  5. OMG, you are too kind to call me a "rock star runner"! LOL BTW, I think it's hilarious you're not sure you'll like a full mary but you wanna do a 50 miler! That's ironic!
