That's one thing I'm really struggling with right now - how selfish I feel for being a runner and putting my family through what they do. Now, more than ever, I'm not sure they would stop - I think they want to send as much of a message as I want to send! (((Hugs))) I really wish I could hug all my blogger friends in person right now.Jac @ Running in the Bike Lanehttp://www.challengedandrunninginthebikelane.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6298661770133764327.post-33335418302863884292013-04-17T20:54:18.421-07:002013-04-17T20:54:18.421-07:00Perfect post! This is exactly how I feel. I so ag...Yes, yes, yes! This is exactly how I feel. I so agree with you on the friends and family of runners being tougher. My poor boyfriend wakes up at crazy hours of the morning to drop me and my insane friends off at start lines and deals with emergency bathroom stops, nervous chatter and lots of "here, hold this" comments before we ever get to a race. Once there, he takes on the role of cheerleader and photographer. He doesn't like running. He's never run a race. But, he puts up with all of this, to support me and my running friends. And, I know he's not a rare case. All friends and family do this. Every one along the finish line does similar things or they may even not know anyone at a race and just come out to support everyone. And, that is the part that makes me so mad. Don't mess with these people! They are amazing, wonderful and strong.
